NSW:2012 ushers in record NSW near drownings
Factbox on near drownings across NSW since the start of the year:
54 people have nearly drowned across the state in the first 10 days of the year, including
23 children and teenagers under the age of 18.

New Year's Day has been the worst day so far, with patients including a three-year-old
boy who was pulled out of a pool at Fairfield West, a 20-month-old baby boy rescued at
Beverly Hills, a 13-year-old boy at Copacabana and a two-year-old boy at Cronulla.
